New Show Opens on June 24

From 4-8 PM, come check into the always-fun, delicious food, definitely music, and excellent conversation opening reception. Did we mention Art? All-new visual delights are promised, for viewing in the refurbished space at 6 Barre Street in Montpelier.

Who's turning one? We are! Come to the party during Art Walk, May 6th, 4-8 PM

We will celebrate our one year anniversary during Montpelier Alive's Art Walk, Friday, May 6, 2016, from 4-8 PM. Our May-June show kicks off with a birthday celebration that includes cake, birthday hats, and the latest art work of our member artists. There will also be live chamber music, some beverages, and a brand new wall—we built a wall! Our showing and viewing area space is now gloriously enlarged.

April 1st Art Show Opening

Join us as we celebrate the opening of our April exhibition, running April 1-30, 2016. On view is the work of the 16 Vermont artists in our collective. The opening reception is Friday, April 1, 2016, 4-8 PM. There will be light refreshments, drink, great conversation, live music by Ben Cosgrove and James Secor (one of The Front's artist-members) and, of course, art on the walls. April Fools'? Come and find out!

New Show Opens February 5th

Mark your calendars for our next show, opening on Friday, February 5, 2016, from 4-8 p.m, during Montpelier's Art Walk. We are sixteen members strong, now that we have welcomed three new artists into the fold: sculptors Chris Jeffrey and Hasso Ewing, and painter Michelle Lesnak. Be sure to stop in during the evening's artful stroll through town: we promise you new artwork, snacks and beverages, warmth (it is winter, after all), and conversation.

Open Monday Dec.21st - get your gifties!

We will be open 4-8 pm this Monday, December 21st - stop by and check out our newly revamped shoppe, which has some artful ornaments, cards, and unusual objects.

Almost at Year End

We're taking a break from the New Member search, and will be adding the names of the new people to whom we've offered membership on our Members page shortly.

Front members have been meeting a lot lately, working out how to improve the gallery and move into 2016 in an even stronger position. (We do get into all kinds of interesting positions in these meetings...)

There's a new Front Shoppe in the back of The Front, with work by members that's under $50 -- ranging from small $5 sculptures to prints in the $40 range. Come by and see if there's something for you or a friend.

Call for New Members

The Front is looking for new members. Membership dues are $75/month and members are required to staff the gallery for at least 3 hours/month and to serve on a working committee.
